- Much more than usual three chord blues band, with repertoire featuring high energy traditional blues mixed with cool jazz blues and a few hot jump tunes

- Formed in 1990
- Previous member Ted Chubuck Jr. - drums
- Previous BMA winners for “Best Blues Band” in 1996, 1997,1998. Danny took BMA for “ Blues Guitar” in 1996 and “Blues Vocalist” in 1996, 1997 and 1999
- Has been selected to play national showcases including Crossroads in Memphis, Cutting Edge in New Orleans, Undercurrents in Cleveland, North by Northeast in Toronto and CMJ in NYC
- CDs have received airplay in Austin, Texas, Toronto, Ontario, Sienna, Italy and on Tater Reds syndicated Blues Show
- Danny also performs solo as a singer/songwriter at colleges and coffeehouses from here to Baton Rouge
- New Cd will be released entitled “Danny Lynn Wilson Band Original Sin” with 12 original New Orleans blues based tracks

- The Electras often feature special guests on Thursday’s in the summer at the River Grill such as: Pete Howard, Paul Bruschini, Danny Gambino, Dr. Z, Mr. Conrad, Pete Worden, Harmonica John, Mark Winsick, Sonny Mayo, Greg Zark, Jim Ehinger, Jony James and Donna Rose

- The band formed 17 years ago and has gone through many personnel changes over the years
- About 15 years ago they won the local Memphis Bound competition and placed 4th nationally in the International Blues Talent Competition.They again won the right to represent Buffalo a couple of years later but did not place nationally
- In 2002, the band took the BMA for “Top Crossover Blues Band” and in 2003 the People’s Choice Award for “Top Blues Band”
- Rod won the BMA for “Blues Male Vocalist” in 2001, 2002 and 2005
- They released 4 CDs “Smells Like Blues”, “Pontiac Blues”, “This One’s for Charlie” and “Live at the Tralf”
- Rod is the son of “Matt Guitar Nickson” and performed with his father at the Green Ghetto on William Street

- Speedy Parker Blues Band was formed in 1999
- !n 2009 they won a BMA for “Traditional Blues Band” and in 2002 a Listener Choice Award also for “Traditional Blues Band”
- Recorded a demo at Tom Calandra’s studio in 1986 and Butch Kalson’s studio in 1999
- Performed at the NYS R&B Festival (Empire Brewery) in Syracuse, Artpark’s “Bikers & Blues Festival”, Botanical Gardens “Hotluck Festival” and with the Shemekia Copeland Blues Band at the Tralf in 1999
- Side projects include: Speedy Parker Jam Band, Speedy Parker and Dr. Z and Enso Parker Acoustic Blues
